Florida files suit against maker LCD volume

Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum said Tuesday that his office had filed against the price of some of the world's largest producer of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) file.

During a press conference in the morning, McCollum said the plot many news companies such as Samsung, Toshiba and Hitachi will participate.
Suit, filed in federal court in California, preventing the company from the competition, using TFT-LCD panel prices, the most common type of LCD panels for popular electronic devices, such as desktop monitors, laptops and flat-screen television conspire to increase.

"This is a big conspiracy, standing as a result of increased prices for some LCD panels and contain artificial and illegal at the expense of Florida residents and state agencies," said McCollum.


He says his research shows that companies organized conspiracy "to the highest level of your organization in a variety of secret meetings and telephone conversations during the year."

United States Department of Justice has accused some of the defendants and their employees in the same federal court in more than 890 million dollars in fines for McCollum.

The defendants are: AU Optronics Corp., AU Optronics Corp. America, Innolux Chimei Corp., CMO Japan Co. Ltd., Chi Mai Optoelectronics USA Inc., HannStar Display Corp., Hitachi Ltd., Hitachi Ltd. showed, Hitachi Electronics (USA), LG Display Co. Ltd., LG Display America Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Samsung Electronics America Inc., Samsung Semiconductor Inc., Sharp, Sharp Electronics Corp., Toshiba Corp., Toshiba Display Technology Co. Ltd. Mobile, Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. and Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc.

The lawsuit accused the company of the Florida Antitrust, Sherman Act, Florida and misleading and unfair Trade Practices Act violations. Florida antitrust laws allow fines amounting to $ 1,000,000 per violation against the company. to establish antitrust laws, damage to more than three times the amount lost due to illegal behavior.
